In an open letter addressed to the public, Pradhan confirmed stepping down while detailing the steps taken by the government-including ordering a CBI investigation, cancelling and rescheduling the affected exam, and transitioning to a computer-based testing format. Despite the government's initial resistance during negotiations and heavy disruptions throughout the Monsoon Session of Parliament, mounting public pressure ultimately led to the minister stepping aside.
