Bittoo was killed by two inmates in Patiala's Nabha jail on Saturday. He was the main accused in the Bargari sacrilege cases. After the attack, Bittoo was taken to a hospital in a serious condition where he was declared brought dead.
One of the accused who attacked Bittoo was identified as Gursewak Singh. However, the exact cause of the murder is not yet known. Bittoo was among 150 Dera followers, who were booked by the Panchkula Police for violence which took place after Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted for raping two of his followers in August 2017.
