Mumbai, May 20: At least one person was killed after unknown assailants opened fire in Ghatkopar area of Mumbai. The firing reportedly took near Sarvodaya Hospital in Ghatkopar on Monday morning. The incident took place in a broad daylight on a busy street in the heart of the city.

Besides opening fire, assailants stabbed a 40-year-old man to death. The deceased was identified as Babloo Dubey alias Choti who was facing at least four criminal cases, including attempt to murder.

A case of murder has been registered at Ghatkopar station. Prima facie, it looks like a fallout of a personal rivalry, a police officer told PTI.

A purported video of the shooting has also surfaced. However, the video doing the rounds is of an incident that happened in Delhi. Avoid sharing it on WhatsApp.
