Lucknow, June 20: An FIR has been registered against rapper and singer Hard Kaur for her comments against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat. The singer has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including sedition for posts on social media which criticised the UP CM and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Kaur is in trouble after her Facebook and Instagram pages featured posts referring to Adityanath as ‘rapeman’. She also criticised the RSS for Hemant Karkare’s death. In another post on her social media profile, the singer blamed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for a number of terrorist crimes, including the recent Pulwama attack. The famous singer, whose whose original name is Taran Kaur Dhillon, is popularly known by her rapper name ‘Hard Kaur’. According to a tweet by ANI, FIR registered under sections 124A (Sedition), 153A, 500 ,505 of the Indian Penal Code and 66 IT Act.
According to a report in the Times of India, the complaint was filed in Varanasi by lawyer Shashank Shekhar under IPC Sections 124A (sedition), 153 (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion), 500 (defamation) and 505 (intent to incite), and Section 66 of the IT Act.
