Sonipat, July 3: In a shocking case, a 12-year-old budding wrestler was shot dead by his coach at his resident in Haryana's Sonipat district on Sunday night. The incident took place in Paladi Kalan village. According to reports, the boy, Ayush, was sleeping with his sister on the roof when the coach, identified as Som Prakash Bharadwaj, shot him. Bharadwaj has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections of murder and a case under Arms Act has been registered against him, reported Times of India. Ayush was learning wresting from Bharadwaj at latter's home in Dadri district. In June, Ayush returned home to Paladi and refused to go back. Earlier investigation reveals that the victim's brother had some issued with Bharadwaj and had brought him back home. According to Times of India, the accused on Sunday visited Ayush's family and tried to convince them to restart the training, but to go in vain. After the first unsuccessful attempt, Bharadwaj visited the victim's family again and went to the roof where Ayush was sleeping and fired at him from a close range and fleed from the spot.

Accordinb to police, as of now the accused had attacked the victim as he had refused to rejoin the training. "Other details could emerge after we arrest the accused. We have sent police teams to arrest him, " police told TOI. Meanwhile, the body has been handed to the family after an autopsy.
