Kochi, December 27: Two sailors died after door of a helicopter hangar collapsed┬аat Southern Naval Command's base in Kochi. The mishap took place around 9:30 am on Thursday. The identities of the deceased sailors were not revealed by the Navy.

The sailors were injured the sliding door of the aircraft hangar fell on them at the Naval Air Station of INS Garuda, where helicopters are kept. They succumbed┬аto their injuries while they were being taken to a hospital.┬аThe cause of the unfortunate incident was not immediately known.

The two personnel were Chief Petty Officers. A court of inquiry has been ordered. Further details about the accident┬аwere awaited.
