Hyderabad, August 11:  In a bizarre incident, a businessman, who stayed in a five-star hotel in Hyderabad for more than 100 days, allegedly fled without paying the hotel bill. According to reports, the culprit, said to be a businessman from Visakhapatnam, fled without paying a bill of Rs 12.34 lakh, the police said on Saturday.  As per an IANS report, a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust has been registered against the businessman, who has been identified as A. Shankar Narayan from Visakhapatnam. Hyderabad: Man Held for Running Fake Government Job Racket.

As soon as the incident was reported, Police began an investigation into the matter. According to the hotel management of the Taj Banjara hotel, the man stayed in a luxury suite for 102 days. The authorities informed that Narayan’s total bill for 102 days was Rs 25.96 lakh out of which he paid Rs 13.62 lakh, keeping the Rs 12.34 lakh balance. The man allegedly left the hotel in April this year without informing anyone.

According to a report by IANS, the hotel staff contacted the man who promised to clear the remaining bill of Rs 12.34 lakh. However, he later switched off his phone after which the hotel manager approached the Banjara Hills police station to lodge an FIR into the matter. “We have registered a case on the complaint by the hotel management and launched investigations,” Sub-Inspector P. Ravi told IANS.

During interrogation, the businessman claimed that he had checked out of the hotel after settling the bill. Alleging that his reputation was being tarnished, Narayan said that he was contemplating legal action against the hotel.

In another similar incident reported from Hyderabad, the Commissioner's Task Force (North Zone Team) busted a job racket on Saturday and arrested one person who cheated people on the pretext of providing them government jobs. Reports inform that acting on a tip-off, police arrested 31-year-old Gurram Prasad alias Babu Rao who used to cheat large sums of money from job aspirants by showing them fake appointment order copies.
