Hyderabad, February 2: A woman techie was arrested in Hyderabad on Friday for allegedly abducting a youth who stalked her. The accused, identified as Pulleri Divya, was arrested along with five others who were her partner in the crime. The group allegedly kidnapped V Sai Kumar, a carpenter, on Thursday and thrashed and beat him with sticks.

Sai Kumar had attended a work in the house of one Pravalika in Borabanda. Pravalika once called Sai Kumar from Divya's mobile phone. He then started calling Divya and was sending her messages on WhatsApp. Furious at harassment, Divya decided to teach the carpenter a lesson. She along with two car drivers, a security guard and diesel mechanic conspired to kidnap Sai Kumar. Delhi: 18-Year-Old, Set Ablaze by Stalker, Succumbs to Burn Injuries at Safdarjung Hospital.

Divya called Sai Kumar to a place in Secunderabad. When he reached there, all the accused attacked him and made him sit on one of their three bikes. They took him to two different locations and assaulted him with sticks. After release from captivity, he had filed a complaint at Gopalapuram police station. After an investigation, the police arrested all accused.

K Srinivasa Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Gopalapuram Division, appealed people facing harassment to lodge formal complaint rather than taking the law into their hands. "Don't take law in your hands as this will make you an accused," the ACP told IANS.
