New Delhi, August 14: A survey conducted by a UK-based online market research and data analytics firm YouGov has revealed that Indians consider State Bank of India (SBI) followed by Tata Motors, Patanjali and Reliance as the most patriotic brands. The survey has been conducted on 152 Indian brands in 11 categories. Around 16 percent respondents consider SBI as the most patriotic brand overall. Patanjali and Tata Motors got eight percent of total votes, whereas six percent respondents consider Reliance Jio and BSNL as the most patriotic brands.

In terms of sectors, the financial industry has topped the list of the most patriotic sector with two leading names - SBI and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). They are followed by auto, consumer goods, food and telecom sectors. In the financial sector, SBI leads the chart with 47 percent, respondents, considering it to be the most patriotic brand, followed by LIC with 16 percent. In the auto sector, Tata Motors received 30 percent votes followed by Bharat Petroleum with 13 percent and Maruti Suzuki with 11 percent.

Amul has topped the list of the most patriotic food brand as one-third of Indians have voted in favour of it followed by Patanjali. In personal care space, Patanjali has topped the chart. Its products are ahead of brands like Dabur and Vicco. In terms of the telecom sector, BSNL beat Reliance Jio, and the public sector brand received 41 percent votes in the category. Nirma emerged as the most patriotic brand in the homecare products category. In the beverages category, Tata Tea has gained 35 percent votes to top the list, whereas Taj Mahal got 18 percent votes and considered as the second-most patriotic brand in the category.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google has topped the list of the most popular global Indian with 42 percent votes, whereas Priyanka Chopra is at the second spot with 39 percent of the Indians considered her the most popular Indian. Other names in the list include Amartya Sen, Laxmi Mittal, Satya Nadella and Manushi Chillar.
