New Delhi, March 8: The Supreme Court courtroom on Thursday witnessed a moment of heated discussion on the identity of women. Lawyer Indira Jaising had to school Attorney General KK Venugopal when he addressed her as 'somebody's wife'. The incident happened when Indira Jaising raised an intervention plea into the Prashant Bhushan contempt case.

Lawyer Anand Grover (who is also Indira Jaising's husband), raised the intervention plea on behalf of Jaising in court. When Grover referred to her as 'Ms Jaising', A-G KK Venugopal interrupted and said he can refer to her as 'his wife'. Mukesh Ambani, Indira Jaising Named in Fortune Magazine's World's Greatest Leaders List of 2018.

To this, Jaising, who was also present in the courtroom, objected to Venugopal's statement and said that she is a person in her own right and not 'somebody's wife'.
