Shopian, July 10: Two Indian Army jawans have been reportedly injured in an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces in the early hours of Tuesday in Kundalan area of Shopian district in south Kashmir. 34 RR and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is carrying out joint operation against the terrorists.  The entire area has been cordoned off. According to media reports, 5-6 terrorists are believed to be trapped.

Father of one terrorist trapped in the encounter have died due to a heart attack when he came to know about his son  Zeenat Ahmed Naikoo been trapped. Stone pelting incidents have also been reported from the encounter site.

Earlier on Monday, one terrorist was neutralised by security forces in an encounter that broke out in the forest area of Handwara. Security forces launched a search operation after receiving input about the presence of terrorists in the area. On Saturday, One CRPF jawan was injured in a grenade attack in  Hyderpora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.
