Ranchi, July 22: The number of crimes against women and especially minors continue to soar as another incident of an alleged gang-rape gets reported, this time from Jharkhand. According to news agency ANI, a minor girl was allegedly gang raped in Gandey in the Giridih district of Jharkhand by five men on July 19, Thursday.

Police says that a case has been registered. and that the police is on the look out for the culprits. The police added that, "We have even recorded her statement and sent her for medical examination earlier today. Search underway to nab the culprits. (sic)". Check the ANI tweet below:

In another rape incident, eight men have been booked by Puducherry police on Saturday under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for abducting and raping a 16-year-old girl after sedating her. According to a tweet by ANI, the minor was allegedly drugged and then sexually assaulted by eight men on Saturday.

In its first, a court in Rajasthan has given death sentence to a 19-year-old for raping seven-month-old. The decision comes under a new anti-rape law that has been imposed in the state that allows the death penalty in the rape of minors under 12 years of age. This is the first death sentence in the state after the tougher sexual abuse law was passed by the state assembly in March this year.
