According to the latest water level monitoring data recorded at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 6, the river's water level stood at 17.457 metres, just below the danger level of 17.5 metres, and was still rising. The warning level of 16.5 metres had already been crossed.

The situation has been worsened by relentless rainfall, with 158.6 mm of cumulative rainfall recorded as of 8:30 am on Monday. Authorities are closely monitoring the river as a high tide is expected around 3:50 pm, raising concerns that floodwaters may not drain efficiently and could lead to waterlogging and flooding in low-lying parts of Kalyan. As a precautionary measure, evacuation of residents from vulnerable low-lying areas has reportedly begun. Officials have urged people living near the river and flood-prone localities to remain alert, follow instructions issued by local authorities and avoid venturing into inundated areas unless necessary. The Ulhas River's highest recorded flood level remains 26.162 metres, which was reached on July 26, 2005, during one of Maharashtra's worst monsoon floods.
