Bengaluru, Aug 20: Karnataka Public Works Department Minister HD Revanna drew flak from the Opposition for his "insensitive" approach while distributing food packets among the flood victims in Hassan district.

A video has come to the fore which shows Revanna throwing biscuit packets on flood victims at a relief camp in Ramanathapura village, located in Hassan district.

Reacting to his behaviour, some of the people reportedly refrained from touching the biscuits thrown at him. Others, however, ate the food item quickly as they were starving for hours.

Here is the video which shows the insensitive approach of HD Revanna:

Revanna is a veteran JD(S) leader and the elder brother of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. The BJP has demanded the CM to take action against his sibling for the "inhumane" behaviour exhibited by him towards the flood victims.

The PW Minister's son Prajwal Revanna has apologised before the media on behalf of his father. "My father is a humble person. Since he has concern for the marooned, he had visited relief camps to given them succour," he said, adding that the actions of his father were unintentional.

Karnataka has witnessed incessant rainfall over the past few days, which has led to floods in some districts. Kodagu has been the worst affected where six people have died and nearly 50,000 left displaced.
