Taking to his 'X' handle, CM Shivakumar said that the prefix may be only two letters, but it represents a lifetime of service, adding that 'Tr' is more than a title, it is society's recognition of those who have dedicated their lives to shaping the lives of others. He said that a teacher builds every person who goes on to build the nation, noting that India has more than one crore teachers, including nearly 4.5 lakh in Karnataka, who are shaping the minds, character and future of children every day. The CM added that every doctor who heals, engineer who builds, farmer who feeds, officer who serves, entrepreneur who creates and leader who guides has a teacher behind them, someone who first recognised their potential and showed them what was possible. He said that from that day, teachers of Karnataka could proudly use the prefix 'Tr.' before their names, calling it the government's way of honouring their invaluable contribution. Expressing deep respect and admiration for teachers, the CM wrote that to every teacher who has guided them, corrected them, encouraged their dreams and believed in them before they believed in themselves, Karnataka salutes them.
