The family of 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly murdered by his fiancée Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary at Lohagad Fort on June 18, has alleged that Goyal's family hid knowledge of her lover affair while aggressively pushing for the marriage alliance. Initially reported by the accused as a tragic selfie accident during a trekking trip, Pune Rural Police unravelled a murder conspiracy after technical tracking placed Chaudhary at the remote crime scene. Speaking out after the arrests, the victim's grandfather stated that the families shared a multi-decade relationship, making the deception deeply personal.

"We have known the girl's family for 35 years. How could they do this to us? Family Questions Cruel Mindset and Lack of Refusal

Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, expressed profound grief and questioned why the wedding could not have been called off peacefully if Goyal was romantically involved with another man. "If she didn't want to get married, she could have simply refused," Agarwal said. "We would have cancelled the wedding immediately. Why did they take such a drastic step? The family's suspicions were first aroused by Goyal's detached demeanour immediately following the incident. "At first we thought it was an accident. But when the police came with his body, Sia didn't show any reaction. There was no sadness on her face and that bothered us," the father added.

Technical Evidence Exposes Plot at Lohagad Fort

According to police coordinates, Goyal had insisted on a trekking trip to the historic Lohagad Fort near Lonavala a day prior to her birthday. While she initially claimed Ketan slipped and fell into a gorge while posing for a photograph, an intensive probe led by Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sandeep Singh Gill completely altered the direction of the case. "The two - Chetan Chaudhary and Siya Goyal - went up the fort together, hit Ketan Vishal Agarwal with an object, and threw him down from the top," Vishal Agarwal stated, acknowledging the swift response of the local police. "The police were helpful and solved the case very quickly. SP, Rural, Sandeep Singh Gill shared the details with us and arrested both individuals," he said.

The recovery of Ketan's body from the deep gorge required a specialised three-hour rescue operation. According to senior police officials, both Goyal and Chaudhary have subsequently confessed to planning and executing the crime during interrogation.

Ketan Agarwal was the only son of a prominent business family that operates a well-known real estate and construction firm in the Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal limits near Pune. The couple had officially exchanged rings during an engagement ceremony in February 2026 and were slated to tie the knot in November later this year. According to family sources, logistics for a high-profile destination wedding in Udaipur, Rajasthan, were already nearing completion.
