The father of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly murdered last month, has written an emotional letter to President Droupadi Murmu seeking a fast-track trial and swift justice in the case. In his appeal, Vishal Agarwal said his family had suffered two devastating losses within 20 days — first his son and then his own father, who, he claimed, died after being unable to cope with the grief, as reported by TOI.

Emotional Appeal for Speedy Trial

In the letter addressed to the President's Secretariat, Vishal Agarwal urged that the murder case be transferred to a fast-track court and requested the strictest punishment for those found guilty. Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: WhatsApp Chats Show Accused Referring to Each Other As 'Husband and Wife'.

Describing himself as "just a father seeking justice" rather than a businessman, he wrote that the family's pain had only deepened with the passage of time and appealed for an expeditious investigation and trial. He said delays in the judicial process only add to the suffering of victims' families.

'I Lost My Son, Then My Father'

Vishal Agarwal said the family was shattered after Ketan's death and suffered another tragedy less than three weeks later. According to the letter, his father was deeply attached to his grandson and was unable to recover from the emotional shock of Ketan's death. Vishal Agarwal claimed that his father's health deteriorated rapidly following the incident, leading to his death within 20 days. "Our family has been shattered," he wrote, adding that the two losses had left an irreplaceable void. Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Deleted Phone Data Reveals Alleged Coded Chats, Say Pune Police.

Murder Case Under Investigation

Ketan Agarwal was allegedly murdered on June 18 near Lohagad Fort in Pune district. Police have alleged that his fiancée, Siya, and her friend, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, who is suspected to have been in a relationship with her, were involved in the crime.

Investigators claim the murder was premeditated, and both accused have been arrested. The investigation is continuing as police gather additional evidence and prepare the case for trial.

Family Seeks Strong Legal Action

In his appeal, Vishal Agarwal stressed that the family was not seeking special treatment but only a timely judicial process. He said that while no punishment could bring his son back, a swift verdict and stringent action against the accused would provide some measure of justice and reinforce public confidence in the legal system. He also urged authorities not to let the case become "just another file," saying it represented the irreversible loss of an entire family.

The alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal drew widespread attention in Maharashtra due to the circumstances surrounding the case. Since the arrests, the victim's family has repeatedly called for speedy justice, arguing that prolonged legal proceedings would only prolong their grief.

The latest appeal to President Droupadi Murmu marks the family's most direct request for intervention, as they continue to seek a fast-tracked trial and early conclusion of the case.
