New Delhi, November 29: The national capital on Thursday will once again get painted in red, as around 1,00,000 lakh agitating farmers have reached New Delhi to press their demands and began their protest march till Ramlila Maidan from assembly points. The Kisan Mukti March is led by All India Kisan Sabha, Swaraj Abhiyan and various other groups.

According to the press release of the National Council of All India Kisan Mahasabha (AIKM), the debt-ridden farmers from all over the country have reached Delhi to protest against the Narendra Modi government’s alleged cheating and betrayal. The farmers will be in the national capital till November 30. Farmers March in Mumbai: Protesters Reach Azad Maidan, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to Meet Them.

The March will be led by Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj Abhiyaan, Communist leaders Ruldu Singh, Rajaram Singh and others. Also, various other political parties and leader might join the protest later in the day, when it starts at around 9 am.

Assembly Points:

1: Gurudwara Shri Bala Saheb ji, Sarai Kalekhan, near Nizamuddin Railway Station: Farmers from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Telangana will assemble here.

2: Barat Ghar, Saini Mohalla, near Bijwasan Railway Station, Bijwasan: Farmers from the states of Rajasthan and Haryana will assemble here.

3: Anand Vihar Railway Station: Farmers from the states of eastern states like West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and others will assemble here.

4. Sabzi Mandi/Kisangunj: Farmers from the states of Punjab, Uttarakhand and Haryana will assemble here.

Demands:

1: Implementation of M S Swaminathan Committee report.

2: Increased MSP of farm produce.

3: Parliament Sessions to discuss two Bills –

a) Farmers’ Freedom from Indebtedness Bill, 2018

b) Farmers’ Right to Guaranteed Remunerative Minimum Support Prices for Agricultural Commodities Bill, 2018.

1. Bijwasan to Ramlila Maidan - 9 am

2. Hazrat Nizammuddin to Ramlila Maidan - 11am

3. Sabzi Mandi station to Ramlila Maidan - 11 am

4. ANVT terminus to Ramlila Maidan - 12 pm

5. Majnu ka Tila to Ramlila Maidan - 12 pm

Security Arrangements:

Delhi police claims that adequate security personnel have been deployed to tackle any untoward incident.

Briefing more, a senior police officer said to PTI, “We have been holding meetings with Kisan (farmer) leaders and they will give us a clarity on the number of farmers since in some cases, their trains are delayed or cancelled. The policemen have been intimated about the protest but traffic advisories and other details will be issued on Thursday after a clarity is obtained from them.”
