Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra took to his Twitter account to announce the cancellation of his show, which was going to take place at MS University (MSU) of Baroda. The event was cancelled after a group of former students had filed a petition in the university, terming the stand-up comedian as ‘anti-national’.

The comedian said that it was through the news report of The Times of India that he got to know about his show being cancelled by the university. Kamra wrote, “Ever been so cool that you find out from the news that you're not going to be working on a particular day? Celebrating my day off in the future on my day off today,” on his social media account.

Read what Kunal Kamra Tweeted About His Show Being Cancelled:

As per a TOI report, the vice-chancellor of MSU, Parimal Vyas, had received a mail from a group of former students who said that there was a ‘conspiracy to pollute the minds of Barodan youth ahead of 2019’.

Former General Secretary of Faculty of Social Work of MSU, Hemang Joshi said, “Kamra has mimicked the national anthem. He has openly supported 'tukde-tukde' gang, and there was no reason why he should have been allowed to enter our sacred alma mater.”

Following his sarcastic tweet, it can be implied that he wasn’t informed about the cancellation by the university first hand, but only came to know about it through the tweet. The comedy-event was scheduled to take place on August 11.
