Tokyo, October 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with top business leaders from India and Japan at the India-Japan Partnership in Africa and Digital Partnership' seminar held in Tokyo. While speaking at the event, PM Modi appreciated his government’s efforts for creating a conducive environment for doing business in the country. The Prime Minister said, “When I took over the responsibility of the government in 2014, India was at 140th position in the 'ease of doing business' ranking of the World Bank. Now India has reached 100th position & we are working towards better ranking.”

PM Modi also expressed happiness over the increasing business between India and Japan over the last few years. The Prime Minister said, “Some years ago, I spoke about making a mini-Japan in India. It's a matter of great happiness for me that today, you are working in an even larger number in India.” Later in the day, the Prime Minister attended Make in India’ seminar in Tokyo. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval was also present at the seminar. PM Modi said that reforms undertaken in the country are now showing results.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo with a special gift! The Prime Minister gifted his Japanese counterpart two handcrafted stone bowls made from rose quartz and yellow quartz stone and hand-woven Dhurries by the weavers of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Modi will also hold delegation level talks with his Japanese counterpart and discuss the strengthening of collaboration in key areas such as defence, security, Indo-Pacific cooperation. PM Modi, who arrived in Japan, last week, is on a two-day official visit to Japan to participate in the 13th India-Japan Annual Summit.
