Chennai, September 30:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Chennai today. Along with participating in the prize distribution ceremony of Singapore-India Hackathon and watching the exhibition on IIT-Madras research park start-ups, Modi will also be the chief guest at 56th convocation of IIT-Madras on Monday.

On Sunday, the PM sough ideas for the speech he will deliver at the convocation ceremony of IIT-Madras. He also urged people, especially IITians and IIT alumni to share their ideas for his speech. He said the ideas can be shared on the open forum on the NaMo App. Mann Ki Baat: PM Narendra Modi Urges Youths to Shun E-Cigarettes, Hails Daniil Medvedev's US Open Speech.

According to a Times of India report, the security has been beefed up inside IIT Madras and its surrounding areas on account of Narendra Modi's visit. He is expected to land at 9:20 am at Chennai Airport and from there take a helicopter to the IIT campus.

While addressing students and faculty at the campus, he intends to include the ideas of students and academicians in his speech. On Sunday, in PM Modi's radio programme- 'Mann ki Baat', he urged people to celebrate the achievements of women and shun consumption of tobacco. He listed the harmful effects of tobacco, cigarettes and e-cigarettes, and urged youngsters to stay away from it.
