Chandigarh, April 1: A suspected low-intensity explosion occurred outside the Punjab BJP headquarters in Sector 37 on Wednesday afternoon, triggering a city-wide security alert. While the blast caused damage to parked vehicles and left visible marks on the party office's boundary wall, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far. The incident took place around 5:00 PM near the entrance of the state party office. According to Chandigarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kanwardeep Kaur, the explosion appears to have originated from a Honda Activa scooter parked at the site.

The impact of the blast shattered the windshield of a nearby car and left approximately 70 to 80 pellet-like marks on the outer wall of the BJP office. Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang that could be heard from a significant distance, leading to immediate panic among residents and commuters in the busy Sector 37 area. Muktsar Blast: 5 Killed, 34 Injured in Explosion at Double-Storey Illegal Firecracker Factory in Punjab; AAP-Linked Owner Tarsem Singh Under Scanner.
