Chandipur, December 23: Quick reaction surface to air missile system developed by DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) was successfully flight tested today at 11: 45 hrs from Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, reported ANI. The missile was flight tested with full configuration in deployment mode intercepting the target in mid air, meeting mission objectives. India Successfully Tests Air-Launched, Land Attack Versions of BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile.

The missile successfully engaged the aerial target establishing its capability. Director General (MSS) MSR Prasad was present during the trial. With this mission, developmental trials of the weapon system are completed and weapon system is expected to be ready for induction by 2021. BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile Successfully Test-Fired by DRDO from Odisha's Chandipur.

This was the third trial of Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) in December. All the three trials were held this month from the test range at Chandipur off Odisha coast. The earlier successful test-firings of the missile was on December 19 and 20. The missile has a strike range of 25 km to 30 km and has been Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
