Thiruvananthapuram, September 7: A student of DC School of Management and Technology in Kerala's Idukki has been hospitalised after allegedly being ragged by his seniors. According to reports, the first year student, identified as Athul Mohan, was ragged by five seniors (second-year students) at the institute premises. Mohan has reportedly sustained severe injuries on his legs.

Mohan, 23, while recalling the ordeal said that he was beaten up for almost three hours. "They asked me to hold a rod and a cellphone in one hand. Then they whacked me with sticks on that hand, threatening that neither the phone, nor the rod should fall. When the phone fell, they started beating me up," Mohan said as quoted by NDTV.

The police have filed a case against the five senior students based on the student's complaint. Mohan also said that he lied to his seniors as he feared being ragged and when the seniors came to know that he was lying, they beat him up mercilessly.
