Rahul Gandhi Backs Nishu Azad Over Alleged Attack on Father, Questions Delhi Police Action (Video)

YouTuber and student rights activist Nishu Azad has sought help from Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in connection with the alleged attack on her father during a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar. Nishu has alleged that her father suffered a serious head injury in the incident and claimed that the accused is still roaming freely. She also said that she has lost hope of getting justice from the Delhi Police.

Responding to Nishu Azad’s appeal on social media, Rahul Gandhi assured her of his support. “Nishu, there is no need to be afraid. I am with you,” Rahul Gandhi wrote. What Happened to Nishu Azad’s Father?

According to Nishu Aazad, her father was allegedly attacked during a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar. She said that he suffered a head injury in the incident. Nishu has alleged that the person responsible for the attack is still moving around freely and questioned the lack of action in the case.

She subsequently appealed to Rahul Gandhi and Chandrashekhar Azad to intervene in the matter and help her family get justice.

Backing Nishu Aazad, Rahul Gandhi also raised questions over the Delhi Police and the central government. In his social media post, he tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and questioned why the alleged attacker of a Dalit woman’s father was still moving around freely.

Rahul Gandhi further assured Nishu Aazad that she would not have to fight the battle alone. He said, “We will not stop until justice is delivered.” He ended his post with the slogans “Jai Bhim” and “Jai Samvidhan.”

The matter also drew a response from Congress leader Pawan Khera. In a social media post, Khera criticised the Delhi Police and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that Hindutva activist Swatantra Bharadwaj had openly claimed responsibility for attacking the father of a young protester, who he said required 60 stitches. Khera further alleged that Bharadwaj had claimed that BJP leader Kapil Mishra’s intervention protected him from police action and had referred to both Kapil Mishra and Chirag Paswan as elder brothers. Khera questioned what such alleged political connections and claims of protection meant for policing and the safety of ordinary citizens in Delhi-NCR. He also criticised Amit Shah over the issue, saying the alleged lawlessness was unfolding under his watch.

The exchange between Nishu Azad and Rahul Gandhi has brought renewed attention to the alleged Jantar Mantar attack and the demand for action against the accused. The allegations, however, remain subject to the findings of the police investigation and any further official action in the case.
