Veeramani, 84, and an associate couple have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody for allegedly s*xually abusing a 13-year-old domestic help under the POCSO Act. A well-known granite businessman in Tamil Nadu, 84-year-old R. Veeramani, has been arrested for allegedly s*xually abusing a 13-year-old girl working as a domestic help. The Greater Chennai Police arrested the octogenarian industrialist alongside a couple who are reportedly his associates.

The accused, identified as R. Veeramani, who runs a granite business, allegedly subjected the minor victim to s*xual abuse at a guest house, reports PTI. Following a police investigation into the matter, he has been formally booked under the provisions of the Protection of Children from S*xual Offences (POCSO) Act. Alongside Veeramani, a man and his wife - identified as his associates - were also taken into custody in connection with the case.
