Patna, August 23: Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav on Thursday claimed that an armed man ‘clutched’ his hand when he met people in Bihar’s Mahua during Eid al-Adha celebrations on Wednesday. Tej Pratap alleged that the armed man was unwilling to leave his hand and claimed that the incident was a conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to kill him. "While I was on my way to Mahua, an armed person held my hand and was unwilling to leave. This is a conspiracy by RSS and BJP to kill me," he said.

According to a report by ANI, the man was spotted by Yadav's driver among the crowd gathered to greet him in Mahua. Soon after the armed man was spotted, the driver and others raised an alarm, after which the man was handed over to the police. The report further says that Yadav claimed that no arrest was made in connection with the incident.

In the wake of the incident, Tej Pratap questioned the Bihar government and said when MLAs and ministers are not safe in the state, how can common people be safe?  In July, the RJD leader had accused the BJP and the RSS of hacking his official Facebook account in an attempt to create a rift in his family and threatened to file a case, but the ruling JD(U)-BJP government in the state dismissed the charges.

Tej Pratap Yadav had alleged that the BJP-RSS hacked his account to weaken his party and create a rift within the Yadav family. “I will lodge an FIR and cut the BJP people to size.” “My Facebook account was hacked and recovered with the help of Facebook. BJP supporters have always tried to hack my social media accounts and today they succeeded,” Tej Pratap Yadav said.
