Etah, June 11: In a shocking development, locals in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district found bodies of man and woman hanging from a tree on Tuesday morning which has prompted police officials to launch an investigation. The reason behind the extreme step is not yet known. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Etah, Sanjay Kumar told media the bodies have been sent for an autopsy. An investigation into their death is underway and the actual cause of death will only be ascertained after a post-mortem report, Kumar said.

On June 6, a couple was found hanging on a tree in Dahanu area of Maharashtra's Palghar district. The young couple, identified as Nitin Balsi and Mamta Dapsi, had been in a relationship for some time and decided to take this drastic step after Mamata's parent forcefully married her to another man.
On the same day, another couple was found hanging in Barotha area of Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district. Villagers spotted the bodies and alerted cops who arrived at the spot and brought the bodies down. The couple, identified as Bhavana and Teju Singh Bagri, took this extreme step after local began questioning them about their relationship following Bagri's wedding in May.
