Lucknow, May 8: In what is believed to be another case of medical apathy, a woman in Uttar Pradesh was forced to deliver baby on the hospital floor as the hospital staff failed to reach on time. According to a tweet by ANI, the woman delivered the baby on floor in district hospital in Bahraich. The woman alleged that she was not attended by the staff on time and hence became a victim of the tragic incident. Reports quote the doctor saying that the woman's family was late in bringing her to hospital. The authorities added saying that the baby was born dead because the woman arrived late at the hospital. According to the doctor, the baby was delivered before they could take the woman to the labour room.  "Woman's family was late in bringing her to hospital,baby was born dead because they were late;baby came out before we could shift her to labour room", the doctor was quoted by ANI.

On Monday, a 22-year-old woman delivered a baby on a local train coach at Mumbai's Virar station. According to reports, the mother and the baby were later admitted to a hospital and were reported to be in good health. Earlier this month, another similar incident had come to light from Virar, where a 36-year-old woman delivered a baby at the Virar railway station near after she went into labour on her way for a regular medical check-up.
