New Delhi, May 31: The first Budget Session of the parliament after the PM Modi 2.0 government swung into action will take place from June 17 to July 26, say sources. This would be the first session where newly appointed Union Ministers will discuss Budget policies and derive new schemes for the future course of action. Along with this, information is pouring in that President Ramnath Kovind will address the joint session of Parliament on June 20.

According to the sources, it has been stated that during the Budget Session of the Parliament, the speaker would of the House be elected on June 19. It was speculated that former Union Minister Meneka Gandhi could be made the Lok Sabha speaker this time. Apart from this, reports have been confirmed that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would present the Budget on July 5  and the Economic Survey would be tabled on July 4. It is to be known the Nirmala Sitharaman is the second Union Finance Minister after Indira Gandhi.

Earlier in the day, the Modi government hiked the National Defence Fund in its first meeting. Under the new decision, the scholarship amount for was hiked from Rs 2,250 to Rs 3,000/per month for daughters of police personnel and from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500/per month for sons of bravehearts who laid their lives for the nation in the Naxal attack.

Also, the new National Education Policy draft was submitted on Friday. The newly appointed Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank submitted the NEP draft today soon after taking charge of his ministry.
