New Delhi, September 25: A war of words broke out between Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Union Minister in the Narendra Modi government, Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Twitter. The spat began after Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted saying that he “cannot think of quitting as long as Punjab’s people need” him. Badal commented on Singh’s tweet and wrote, “@capt_amarinderji your commitment to Punjab is amusing. You broke your word to farmers, left youth jobless, thwarted SAD-BJP welfare schemes & lied in the name of holy Gutka Sahib, so now you need not worry about your future as Punjabis are counting days to show you the door!” Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh Red Flags Pakistan's 'Attempt to Drop Weapons Using Drones' in Indian Territory, Asks Amit Shah to Act.

The Tweet That Started It All

Replying to the tweet, Captain Amarinder Singh wrote, “Harsimrat Kaur Badal talks more than she knows. She is a compulsive liar. If I was @narendramodi, I would have sacked her long ago. She is totally incompetent.”

Harsimrat Kaur then replied writing, “Thank you @capt_amarinder for proving me right by finally releasing the 1st installment of Rs 1.96cr of state GST on Langar to SGPC today. BTW, total refund claim was of Rs 3.27cr. So respect the #Sikh sentiments & release the remaining amount of gurughar's money at the earliest.”

To which Captain Amarinder Singh replied and said, You’re even dumber than I thought "@HarsimratBadal_ I’ve clearly said the amount claimed was what we’ve disbursed. What kind of government did you guys run? You don’t even know that money is given against claims & that there’s a procedural time taken! Atrocious to say the least."
