On the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the founder of Jana Sangh party, which was the forerunner to the Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP leaders have been offering their tributes to the late leader and the party will mark the day with events and programmes in the memory of Deendayal Upadhyaya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with BJP president Amit Shah, will hold a mega rally in Bhopal, called the Karyakarta Mahakumbh┬аon Tuesday to mark the birth anniversary of the leader. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also be part of the rally, along with other prominent BJP leaders. Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tweeted and shared a picture of the Jan Sangh founder with a message and called him "an extraordinary human being." Check the tweet below:

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the Sarvajan Sukhaya and Sarvajan Hitaya philosophy (for the happiness of the many, for the welfare of the many) of the leader and wrote in his tribute:

"Looking forward to interacting with the hardworking Karyakartas of @BJP4MP at the #KaryakartaMahakumbh in Bhopal today," tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the rally to be held in Bhopal on Tuesday. The BJP also tweeted about the event. Check the tweet below:

Deendayal Upadhyaya, the RSS thinker, scholar and the co-founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh,┬аwas born in Mathura in the year 1916. His father was an astrologer and mother's name was Rampyari. His parents died when he was only eight years old and he lived with his maternal uncle after that. He joined the RSS while he was studying at Sanatan Dharma College.┬аDeendayal Upadhyaya became a full-time pracharak (activist) of the RSS after completing training at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. In the year 1951, he founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh along with Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya contested only one election in his lifetime. He was the Jana Sangh candidate from Jaunpur seat in the 1963 by-election, but lost it to Congress' Rajdev Singh.
