Bhopal, February 6: In the run-up to Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the Congress in Madhya Pradesh is considering fielding actor Arun Govil, TV screen’s original ‘Ram’ from Indore constituency. Govil has played Lord Rama's character in Ramanand Sagar’s television serial Ramayana in the 1980s. According to a report by TOI, Govil, who is close to the Congress party, may prove to be a game-changer in Indore, where the Congress has repeatedly lost the seat eight times to Lok Sabha Speaker and MP Sumitra Mahajan.

According to a report by TOI, state Congress media cell coordinator Narendra Saluja confirmed the development and said Govil’s name is being discussed and if he applies for a ticket from the Congress party, his application will be considered on a serious note.
