New Delhi, February 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday received Canadian premier Justin Trudeau, along with his wife Sophie and children Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The Prime Minister greeted his Canadian counterpart Trudeau with his signature bear-hug and posed for photographs with his family. Later in the day, both the leaders will have a bilateral meeting on further strengthening India-Canada bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Modi on Thursday took to Twitter and said, "I hope PM @JustinTrudeau and his family had a very enjoyable stay so far. I particularly look forward to meeting his children Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien. Here is a picture from my 2015 Canada visit, when I'd met PM Trudeau and Ella-Grace”.

Trudeau arrived in India on February 17 for a week-long visit. He began his visit with a trip to the 17-century, Mughal-era monument Taj Mahal in Agra. On Sunday, the Canadian Prime Minister visited the Taj Mahal in Agra with his family. Besides Delhi, the Canadian PM also visited Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Amritsar. Wheels up for India and a busy visit, focused on creating good jobs and strengthening the deep connection between the people of our two countries,” Trudeau had tweeted on Friday before embarking on the trip.

During his visit, Trudeau is scheduled to interact with business leaders, representatives of the film industry, and students. On Thursday, Trudeau addressed a business summit in Delhi and visited the national capital's Jama Masjid. The Canadian Prime Minister also visited the Modern High School's cricket grounds, where he and his three children tried their hands at batting.
