New Delhi, May 30: Before taking oath to office later today, Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi visited Rajghat, the final resting place of Mahatma Gandhi, and the Saidav Atal Samidhi to pay tribute at the memorial of late former PM and BJP co-founder Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Modi to Take Oath With His New Cabinet of Ministers in Rashtrapati Bhawan at 7 pm

The PM-elect subsequently visited the National War Memorial, and bowed down before the memorial built to honour the martyrdom of scores of Indian soldiers. At the tribute-paying ceremony, Modi was accompanied by Army Chief Gen. Bipin Rawat, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and Vice Chief of Air Force Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria.

At the Saidav Atal Samidhi, he was accompanied by top party leaders, including BJP chief Amit Shah, Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Dharmendra Pradhan, Sunil Prabhu and Prakash Javadekar, among others.

President Ram Nath Kovind would be administering oath to office of Modi and his Council of Ministers later today. The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled at 7pm at the Jaipur Gate of Rashtrapati Bhawan, will be attended by nearly 6,500 esteemed guests. Among those in attendance include heads of states from BIMSTEC nations, which includes Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Besides them, the President of Kyrgyz Republic  would also be attending the event.
