New Delhi, May 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday embarked upon his campaign blitzkrieg in Karnataka, addressing his first of the 15 scheduled rally in Mysuru. The PM is scheduled to hold 14 more public meetings within a span of the next seven days.

The spree of rallies by the Prime Minister comes 12 days before the state goes to the assembly polls. BJP, the prime challenger to the Congress in Karnataka, aims to boost its pre-poll popularity with Modi leading the campaign trail.

Apart from the schedule of 14 rallies shared in the above images, the Prime Minister is slated to hold a mega public meeting in Bengaluru on May 8, at 6 pm. The rally will culminate the campaign of BJP in the state.

Through his 15 rallies, Modi will cover all major regions of Karnataka, including Mysuru, Udupi, Belagavi, Gulbarga, Bellary, Bengaluru, Tumkur, Dharwad, Raichur, Chikmagalur, Bagalkot and Dakshina Kannada.

Elections in 224 constituencies of Karnataka will be held in a single-phase on May 12. The results will be declared on May 15.

The opinion polls so far paint a grim picture, with the Congress predicted to emerge as the single largest party, but short of the majority mark. The BJP, meanwhile, is trailing inches behind.
