Patna, January 25: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Bihar Minister Vinod Narayan Jha on Friday made a sexist remark on Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, days after her official entry into active politics. Calling Priyanka Gandhi "beautiful", Jha said that she had only beauty but no political experience to be given a post in the Congress. Priyanka Gandhi’s Entry in Active Politics Refuels Debate on Political Dynasties.
"Votes can't be won on basis of beautiful faces. Moreover, she is the wife of Robert Vadra who is accused of involvement in land scam and several corruption cases. She's very beautiful but other than that she holds no political achievement," Jha said.

When confronted by the media, Jha said that he had not said anything wrong and also refused to apologise.
This is not the first time that a BJP leader has made a sexist remark against Priyanka Gandhi. In 2017, just before the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, BJP leader Vinay Katiyar had made a similar remark.
When asked about Priyanka Gandhi being a star campaigner for the Congress, Katiyar had said, “What star campaigner? No, I don’t think that’s a factor. There are so many other more beautiful female campaigners. There are heroines. So many others more beautiful.” He had also said that the BJP had more pretty face than Priyanka Gandhi.
Priyanka Gandhi entered active politics on Wednesday as she was appointed as the AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East, days ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
