New Delhi, May 1: After Prime Minister Narender Modi’s ‘Naamdar’ jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi during his election rally in Karnataka, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal also referred to the PM’s jibe in his tweet while replying to the Congress president’s allegations of corruption against him. Earlier in the day, Gandhi demanded Goyal’s resignation. He accused the minister of being involved in the Rs 48 crore Flashnet scam, which he said is about “deceit, conflict of interest and greed”.

Rahul attacked the railway minister through his tweet. The Congress president also uploaded a picture along with his tweet. He alleged Goyal of selling his stock of Flashnet Info Solutions to Piramal group, which has interests in the power sector, at 1,000 times the face value. According to Gandhi, Goyal sold his shares during his tenure as the minister of state for power.

Hitting Back at Rahul Gandhi, The union minister divulged his professional qualification. In his tweet, Goyal said, “I am a law topper, CA 2nd rank all over India, professional Chartered Accountant & investment banker and therefore competent to give consultancy.” The railways minister also questioned Gandhi’s ability. He said that he had learnt the art of living by working, and not like Gandhi. Piyush Goyal referred to PM Modi’s ‘naamdar’ Jibe at Rahul Gandhi. He said, “I am also a kaamdaar (worker) and not a naamdaar (dynast).”

The railways minister also questioned former finance minister P Chidambaram’s and his son Karthi Chidambaram. He said, “BTW Mr @PChidambaram_IN who are the consultants in your son @KartiPC's consultancy?”
