Lucknow, March 28: Samajwadi Party (SP) on Thursday announced the list of five more candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2019. In the list, Naseer Qureshi is named as the party candidate from Muradabad, Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar is contesting from Bareilly and Pooja Pal from Unnao. Meanwhile, the party has fielded Shyam Sunder Yadav from Jhansi and Nathuni Prasad Khushwaha from Kushinagar Lok Sabha Constituency. Mulayam Singh Yadav Named in Samajwadi Party List of Star Campaigners For 2nd Phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Till now, the party has announced the names of 27 candidates for Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. SP president Akhilesh Yadav is contesting from Azamgarh, while his father and founder of the party Mulayam Singh Yadav is contesting from Mainpuri. The party has also fielded Azam Khan from Rampur. Currently, Khan is a Member of Legislative Assembly from Rampur. In the 2014 elections, SP patriarch Mulayam had won the Mainpuri and Azamgarh parliamentary constituencies. Samajwadi Party's List of 3 Candidates For Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Devendra Yadav to Contest From Etah, Hemraj Verma From Pilibhit.

In Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are contesting polls together on 78 seats out of 80. Later, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) also joined the BSP-SP mahagathbandhan (grand alliance). As per the seat-sharing pact, Mayawati-led BSP will contest 38 seats, whereas Akhilesh Yadav-led SP will fight on 37. The remaining three seats are left for the third alliance partner RLD.
