Chandigarh, October 24: Tik Tok star and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sonali Phogat is trailing behind sitting Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi in the Adampur seat of Haryana. As per the initial trends of Haryana assembly elections 2019 results, Phogat is trailing by a slim margin behind Bishnoi, the two-time legislator from the seat. The counting of votes is currently underway. Stay tuned here for the live news updates of Haryana assembly elections 2019.

Overall, the trends are showcasing a neck-to-neck battle in Haryana. The BJP, though ahead in the initial leads, is not seen to be crossing the halfway mark. According to ABP News, the BJP is leading in 40 seats -- five less than the majority mark. The Congress is ahead in 33 constituencies, whereas, the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) is leading in 11 seats.

Others, including independents, Akali Dal and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) nominees are collectively ahead in 6 seats. According to pollsters, the Congress stands a chance of forming the next government if a post-poll alliance is formed by the anti-BJP bloc.

In the 2014 assembly elections, the BJP had won the state for the first-ever time after winning a simple majority of 47 seats. The Congress was reduced to 15 constituencies, whereas, the INLD was restricted to 19 assembly segments. Manohar Lal Khattar was elected as the Chief Minister by the BJP legislature party. In case of a BJP victory, Khattar would continue as the CM.
