Mumbai, May 16: The anxiety is increasing in Karnataka state with every passing minute after state assembly poll verdict was declared; it seems that the BJP and Congress along with JD(S) are sitting on a time bomb. Both Congress and BJP have created a nail-biting situation in the state, making everyone wonder who will form the government. Well, the ball is in Governor's court; it is he who will decide the fate of Karnataka.
Parties are seen rushing to Raj Bhavan, the official residence of Vajubhai Vala, the state governor. After BJP elected BS Yeddyurappa as legislators' representative early today, he met the governor and now Congress party delegation has knocked the doors of Raj Bhavan at 5 pm. Despite the Congress going to meet the governor yesterday itself, no meeting happened as counting of votes was in progress and he (Vala) was waiting for the final verdict.
While the Congress party sources revealed that they are likely to demonstrate dharna (Protest) if BJP is invited first. The party sources also believe that there are greater chances of allowing BJP to prove their majority, which will eventually dismay the Congress and JD(S) chances to form their government in Karnataka. Therefore, as a retaliation, they have decided to voice their protest if any such development is to happen.
On the other end, BJP which has emerged as the single largest party with 103 candidates, is confident of forming their own government. After BS Yeddyurappa met Governor Vala at his residence he said that he has been ensured by the governor that his decision will be taken in view of state benefits only. After JD(S) leaders got their appointment with the Governor, the Congress delegation are also seeking a meeting to fielding their leaders at Raj Bhavan.
