Puri, July 3: Lakhs of people will arrive at Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha's Puri to participate in Jagannath Rath Yatra 2019 starting today. The Jagannath Rath Yatra, also known as Rathajatra or Rathayatra or Chariot festival, is held on Ashadha Sukla Dwitiya, the 2nd day of the bright fortnight of Ashadha (June- July) every year. The official website of Shree Jagannath Temple is hosting live streaming of Jagannath Ratha Yatra. Jagannath Yatra marks the annual journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra from Jagannath temple to the shrine of Devi Gundicha, their aunt. The nine-day festivity ends on their return to Jagannath temple. The 'pahandi' of three gods begin in the morning when they are taken out in a procession to their raths. Devotees from all religions pull the chariot.

The chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are known as Nandighosh, Taladhwaja and Padmadhwaja.
