Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2018: Huge Balloons to Turn the Streets of America Colorful- All You Need to Know

The 92nd edition of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is set to add colours to the streets of Manhattan. Balloons, floats, marching bands, performance groups, stars will be paraded on the streets! America observes Thanksgiving Day with grand celebrations and get-togethers. This year as Thanksgiving falls on November 22, Macy's has arranged a grand parade continuing the tradition and is expected to be witnessed by over 3.5 million people. Various Thanksgiving Day Parades are held across the country turning streets of America into a festive mode.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2018 will include 16 giant character balloons, 43 novelty balloons, heritage balloons, balloonicles, balloonheads and trycaloons. Other than this 26 floats, 1,200 cheerleaders, dancers, more than 1,000 clowns and 12 marching bands will be a part of the parade. While Thanksgiving has traditional, cultural and historical significance, over the years it has become a national celebration. However, this year the day will be extremely chilly with the weather forecasts saying it is going be the coldest Thanksgiving in more than a century.

According to a report in ABC 7, flour new floats that will debut this year are Elf Pets by The Elf on the Shelf, Fantasy Chocolate Factory by Kinder (Ashley Tisdale), Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Nickelodeon (Jack & Jack) and Splashing Safari Adventure by Kalahari Resorts and Conventions (Ella Mai). Thanksgiving 2018: Know Date, History & Significance Behind the Most Awaited Holiday in the U.S.

Some signature balloons featured in the parade are the world's favourite characters. This year Saiyan warrior Goku from 'Dragon Ball Super: Broly' will join the line-up. Spectators can witness the balloons from 1:00 pm onwards at 77th and 81st Streets between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue on Wednesday.  Security will be tightened around the place where the parade will be held.
