The Madras High Court has upheld a 2022 order directing filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon to repay INR 4.25 crore plus 12% annual interest to producer Elred Kumar over a stalled 2008 project. Dismissing Menon’s appeal, the court ruled that the funds were never utilized for the agreed-upon film and were separate from his later works.
