The central government continues to support farmers through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, one of the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programmes. Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive financial assistance of INR 6,000 per year, paid in three equal installments of INR 2,000 each directly into their bank accounts.
