The West Bengal government has ordered district magistrates to re-verify all 1.69 crore SC, ST and OBC caste certificates issued since 2011 after questions were raised over the authenticity of some documents. The move follows allegations that certificates were issued to ineligible people, particularly during Duare Sarkar camps ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections.
