The Centre is expected to announce a 3% dearness allowance (DA) hike for central government employees and pensioners before Diwali, raising DA from 55% to 58% of basic pay. Benefiting over 1.2 crore people, the hike—effective July 2025—will add INR 540 monthly to an entry-level employee’s salary.
