The Chhattisgarh High Court upheld a family court order dissolving a marriage after the wife repeatedly called her husband a “paaltu chuha” (pet rat) and tried to alienate him from his parents. The court ruled her behaviour amounted to mental cruelty and desertion, while ordering INR 5 lakh as permanent alimony.
