The Union Ministry of Law and Justice told the Lok Sabha that there are over 4.76 crore pending court cases in India as of Dec 31, 2025. This includes 92,101 in the Supreme Court and 63.66 lakh in High Courts. Uttar Pradesh leads in state pendency. The government cites infrastructure and eCourts projects as key initiatives to support judicial disposal.
