PM Narenra Modi briefed the Lok Sabha today, March 23 on India's energy security amid the West Asia crisis, highlighting a 53 lakh metric tonne strategic petroleum reserve with plans to add 65 lakh more. He noted that import sources grew from 27 to 41 nations, while 20 per cent ethanol blending and 1,100km of Metro lines are further reducing global oil dependence.
